Fire Engineer Chris Palmer asks Valleyites for help in earning his Masters in Leadership and Public Safety Administration by completing an online survey.
Completion of this course would put Palmer on the right path to one day becoming a chef. He has been with the VC Fire Department for two years and with the Fire Department for seven years.
Palmer, who is working on his synthesis project for Arizona State University, is evaluating an existing program at the Valley Center Fire Protection District. For his project, he will replicate a survey: the Valley Center Fire Protection District Strategic Plan Survey, which the district conducts every few years to assess respondent skills.
The survey does not ask for your name or address. It asks for age and gender and how long you have lived in Valley Center. It asks you to assess the priorities, concerns and expectations of the community as well as the weaknesses and strengths of the fire department.
“I know we have to do an investigation like this soon. I wanted to dive into it a bit and gain some experience. Palmer said. However, his survey is for academic purposes only and will not be used by the district. It’s also on a much smaller scale. If he gets about 50 responses, Palmer will be satisfied. “It would give me enough data for further reporting. It would be great to include a large number of residents in this survey. He added, “I’m looking for honest feedback.” He anticipates that it will take about 20 minutes to complete the survey.
If you would like to participate in the survey, go to arcg.is/1DX5H90. The investigation will take about a month. The results of Palmer’s survey and data analysis will be presented to a college board of directors who will evaluate his work.
Palmer is expected to graduate in December from his crash course online.
Palmer concluded, “I am very honored and humbled to serve this community and I hope people are ready to help another servant who is working here.
