Safe sanitary design and capability of Cleaning in Place is always an issue for equipment used in process systems for food products.

GEA Niro Soavi benefits from the long term experience and thousands of machines used daily in the food processing industry, where sanitary design and effective cleanability make a real difference in the selection of process equipment.

Since 1989, homogenizers and high pressure pumps from GEA Niro Soavi are certified to be designed and manufactured according to 3-A Sanitary Standard.
In January 2009 GEA Niro Soavi has performed the yearly renewal of authorization no. 558 for 3-A marking of homogenisers and high pressure pumps according to the “3-A Standards for Homogenizers and Reciprocating Pumps, Number 04-04”, which is subject to a 3-A Third Party Verification (TPV) Program to determine the compliance of machine design and manufacturing according to applicable standard by means of an expert and 3-A approved conformity evaluator.
All the actual 3-A symbol holder have to perform a TPV inspection prior to renew current authorization latest every 5 years.

The TPV Program is intended to provide accurate verification of machine design features, manufacturing procedures, materials used and implemented Quality System (e.g. ISO 9001:2000) to ensure a sound and documented manufacturing process of certified equipment.

Furthermore, in the view of better supporting the specific needs of customers, GEA Niro Soavi has developed customized solutions to improve cleanability of homogenizers and high pressure pumps used to process, for instance, products with high viscosity, with high solid content, or extremely sensitive to microbial contamination, which are available for new equipment or can be supplied as retrofit upon request on already installed units.

GEA Niro Soavi, to pursue the strategy of continuous improvement of product quality according to the demand of the market, is confirming the worldwide technology leadership in high pressure homogenization technology also actively cooperating with 3-A SSI organization, end-users from the industry and regulating authorities in the definition of applicable and improved standards for process equipments.
