GEA Niro Soavi has a long history in supplying Aseptic Homogenizers to many of the most important producers sterile products in the whole world, not only for food & dairy applications but also pharmaceuticals and biotech products.

GEA Niro Soavi Aseptic technology uses sterile condensate instead of live steam to flush the aseptic chambers installed on the machine to avoid sterile product contamination during processing with homogenizers once the complete system has been steam sterilized.

The main advantages of the system using sterile condensate instead of live steam are the following:

  • Longer packing lifetime, comparable with what is achieved with the standard sanitary design machines, as sterile condensate is supplied at relatively low temperature
  • The aseptic system can be sterilized once, before production, then only sterile condensate is used. The circuit allows other types of sterilizing liquid or flushing medium (e.g. hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid solution) to be used
  • The system can work at low temperatures, and this is an advantage for pharmaceutical products with a temperature limit which must not be exceeded to avoid product denaturising
  • Using condensate instead of live steam avoids steam condensation inside the flushed areas, causing vacuum which may lead to air or contaminant entrainment from the outside environment

Specific aseptic system configuration can be supplied either for food & dairy and pharmaceutical or biotech applications.
