A new platform for customer’s product development and total customer satisfaction
Researching new technological solutions has always been GEA Niro Soavi’s most important strategic factor. As global leader, the company recently invested in a new R&D Centre to research tomorrow’s answers about homogenization processes.
Therefore, a new Innovation & Test Centre will be inaugurated in September 2010. It is positioned next to GEA Niro Soavi’s Headquarters in order to work closely with the Laboratory and Technical Department. The Innovation Centre building has an extension of about 1000m and three main areas:
- The APPLICATION PLATFORM: a fully equipped and outfitted area to allow customers to simulate a product’s treatment on a pilot scale (around 200 litres); this allows realistic full-scale test production or generation of data for reliable scale-up.
- A PHARMA CERTIFICATION ZONE: a dedicated area for welcoming the customers to arrange the documentation and monitoring for any kind of machine certification (cGMP validation, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ support)
- TEST BAY AREA: committed not only to the new homogenizing technologies development and to the new models realization and test, but also to the test bay of machines before saling them to the customers.
The Test Centre is supported by state-of-the-art laboratory machines, different laboratory pilot units and a variety of auxiliary equipment for feasibility and pilot-scale testing for various processes used in the manufacture of chemical, dairy, food and pharmaceutical products.
The GEA Niro Soavi new test station is an addition to the well-established GEA Niro Soavi laboratory, which is the major competence center for homogenizing technology. From the initial concept, through pilots trials and final analysis: this is the right way to fine tune the perfect product’s formulation and the best homogenizing process conditions.
This centre of excellence is staffed by some of the most experienced personnel available to consult with customers to determine the optimal process conditions on a case-by-case basis. No one knows more about engineering high-performance homogenizers than the experienced process team at GEA Niro Soavi. It not only helps you refine product’s receipes and the best homogenization process conditions, with minimum development time and maximum security of outcome. It also provides assistance in carrying out new production projects. It provides to the customers numerous testing facilities:
- Batch size 20-200 litres
- Production under sterile conditions
- Pressure range 10-2000bar
- Full range of homogenizers, from laboratory models like the Panda NS1001L to the industrial machine Ariete NS3024H
- SIP & CIP
The new Innovation & Test Centre offers customers fast, accurate data on a wide range of issues for example: emulsion stability, homogenization quality, formulation stability, homogenization condition procedure, pigment performance, and recommended homogenization valves.
